VimpelCom completed the acquisition of a 100% stake in Bakri Uzbekistan Telecom LLC (Buztel), the fourth largest mobile operator in Uzbekistan, for $60 million in January 2006.

Buztel was previously owned by Altimo. VimpelCom also acquired Unitel LLC, the second largest mobile operator in Uzbekistan, for $200 million plus debt obligations of about $7.7 million in February 2006.
