Companhia Zaffari faced intense opposition from employees and protests.
The company's treatment of its workers was a major point of contention.
Employees felt undervalued and overworked, leading to widespread dissatisfaction.
Protests erupted outside the company's headquarters, with workers demanding better working conditions and fair compensation.

Response and Protests

Protests erupted inside stores on Avenida Ipiranga and Rua Lima e Silva on December 5 and 6, with left-wing parties and social movements joining forces to denounce the company's working conditions.
The protests received support from consumers and workers, who despite pressure from superiors to remain silent, reiterating the denunciations made by the protesters.
On Friday, December 13, a protest was held in the Esquina Democrática in the center of Porto Alegre, despite the rain, demanding an end to the 6×1 scale and a reduction in working hours without salary reduction.
The company's response to the protests was that the collective labor agreements that involve over 700 companies in Porto Alegre do not establish the 10×1 scale, but rather require a weekly paid rest period and a maximum of 10 consecutive working days.
The company has the same agreement with the Ministry of Labor, which has been approved by the Labor Court and is in effect.

The Sindec-Poa, the union representing workers in the commercial sector, has announced that it will not renew the agreement that allows for the extension of working hours to 10 days in 2025, in response to the company's proposal to limit the scale to 6×1.
The union has permanent channels for denunciations and inspection teams that circulate among companies to inspect working conditions.
