Mange Medication Trial
In the South Okanagan, a mange medication trial is underway to find the most effective treatment for bighorn sheep.
The trial involves two different drugs: fluralaner and moxidectin, sourced from Australia.
These drugs are being tested on bighorn sheep held by the Penticton Indian Band, a partner in the project.
Fluralaner has been used successfully in a previous mange trial in 2016, and moxidectin is used in the UK on domestic sheep.
