ABS-CBN Convergence has a rich history that spans a few years. On January 27, 2012, Bayan Telecommunications (BayanTel) signed an asset purchase agreement with ABS-CBN to hand over BayanTel's wireless landline service and its related assets to ABS-CBN.
The agreement was completed on February 1, 2012, and included BayanTel's required licenses, interconnection trunks, subscribers, and employees. ABS-CBN later informed the National Telecommunications Commission that they would terminate this service on March 10, 2014, for reasons of costly maintenance.

The subscribers of ABS-C's wireless landline service were migrated to ABS-CBN Mobile after the service shut down. ABS-CBN then signed a network-sharing agreement with Globe on May 28, 2013, to create a new mobile telephony brand, ABS-CBN Mobile.
ABS-CBN Mobile was expected to begin by the end of 2013, and would create its own prepaid and postpaid voice, SMS, and mobile broadband services while sharing servers, towers, and switches with Globe. The National Telecommunications Commission approved the deal on June 8, 2013.
ABS-CBN Mobile was launched on November 16, 2013, for the benefit of the survivors of Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). The mobile service was initially supposed to launch in early September but was postponed due to operational issues.
ABS-CBN Corporation officially launched ABS-CBN TVplus on February 11, 2015, a set-top box that uses the ISDB-T International standard to detect digital terrestrial (free TV) signals with five specialty digital television channels.

Globe Partnership
ABS-CBN and Globe Telecom Inc. sealed a partnership that marks the convergence of media and telecommunications businesses in the country.
This groundbreaking partnership has been in the works for over 5 years.
The partnership enables ABS-CBN to deliver its content and offer traditional telecoms services on mobile devices.
Globe will provide capacity and coverage on its existing cellular mobile telephony network to ABS-CBN Convergence on a nationwide basis.
The parties may also share assets such as servers, towers, and switches.
Under the network sharing agreement, Globe and Innove will provide network capacity and coverage to ABS-C on a nationwide basis.
