Myles and Katharine Weiss left Zola Levitt Ministries for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, they were seeking to spend more time with family and pursue other interests outside of the ministry. Secondly, they had disagreements with Zola Levitt over the direction of the ministry and its emphasis on evangelism and teaching the Jewish people about Yeshua. And lastly, they desired to start their own ministry which would have a greater focus on helping the poor and needy.

The Weisses departure from ZLM was not an overnight decision, but rather something that they had been contemplating for some time. In the end, they felt that it was the best thing for them and their family. And while they still have a great deal of love and respect for Zola Levitt and all that he has accomplished, they felt that it was time for them to move on and pursue other calling in their lives.

Or was it because they felt they could no longer support the ministry financially?

The question of whether or not people in scripture stopped supporting the ministry financially because they no longer believed in it is a valid one. There are a few examples where this could be the case. In Acts 6:1-7, when the number of disciples began to increase, the Hellenistic Jews began to complain against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being neglected in the daily distribution of food. The twelve then called a meeting of the disciples and said, “it would not be right for us to neglect the gospel of God in order to wait on tables. Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this task, and we will devote ourselves to prayer and the ministry of the word.” This shows that the disciples were more worried about the gospel and prayer than they were about the material needs of the people. In another instance, Acts 11:27-30 says that some prophets from Jerusalem came down to Antioch and that one of them, Agabus, “stood up and predicted by the Spirit that a severe famine would spread over the entire Roman world” (this happened during the reign of Claudius). The disciples then determined that they would each give as much as they could afford to the relief fund for the brothers living in Judea. This instance also shows that the disciples were more worried about the spiritual needs of the people than the material.

So, it is possible that people stopped supporting the ministry financially because they no longer believed in it, but there are other possible explanations as well. Perhaps they stopped because they couldn’t afford to or because they decided that their resources would be better used elsewhere. It’s also possible that they disagreed with how the ministry was being run and didn’t want to support it anymore. Whatever the reason, it’s clear that there were times when people stopped supporting the ministry financially, but it’s not always clear why.
