Do you identify most strongly with the liberalism and advancements of the Roaring Twenties? Or perhaps you appreciate technology and its social implications from this century’s modern age? Maybe being part of a generation of strength and creativity during the 1950s is inspiring for you? Perhaps your spirit lives within the progressive edginess of the rock-and-roll revolution of the 1960s? Every era has something special that defines it and can speak directly to each individual.

No one belongs exactly where they are currently living - there are different aspects of every culture's history which can draw us back in time either directly or symbolically. All eras contain elements that can be embraced today as there is always something positive to bring forward into our current lives. Researching different cultures through books and documentaries is one way to discover more about eras that fascinate us, revealing answers about which ones we truly feel a connection with and partaking in hobbies like music or art inspired by such periods. What decade am I from?

As a millennial, born in the early 1990s, I often get asked “What decade am I from?”. Despite criticisms that we, as a generation, are lazy, entitled and unfocused; there is one thing that defines us, the decade that births us. The 90s!

The 1990s were a time of unparalleled innovation and change in technology, entertainment, fashion and culture. We saw the dawn of the age of computers as cell phones advanced to flip phones while world-wide web was invented allowing people to navigate their way around the internet. This new technology impacted fashion such as neon colors and high tech clothing while entertainment shifted to more fast-paced shows and films featuring digital effects like Jurassic Park. This era also brought Pop music listeners the birth of Boy Bands such as *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block which dominated not only our airwaves but also our bedrooms and lockers with posters everywhere!

No other generation has had such a wide variety of experiences like ours - whether it be watching Saturday morning cartoons or going through what was termed 'the Y2K panic'. It shapes who we are today as adults as we carry these memories from our childhood into adult life. Our media landscape - both personally and professionally - is pervasive with references to 90’s culture which helps keep alive the nostalgia of this epic decade!

What year was I born in?

Have you ever been curious about what year you were born in? Knowing your birth year can give you a sense of pride and connection to the larger timeline of humanity's progress. Whether you've just celebrated a birthday, are deeply rooted in genealogy research, or are simply looking to understand more about yourself, there is an easy-to-follow process that will help you answer this important question.

The first way to determine what year you were born in is by consulting your birth certificate. Though this document is technically reserved for legal purposes, it will clearly identify the date and place of birth for everyone listed on it. A far simpler solution for those of us who don't have access to our original birth certificates is to look up our own personal records online, if applicable. Most government services such as social security and other national registries post online databases with citizens' birth dates based on the documents they already have on file.

Another effective avenue towards discovering your birth year can be found through family members and old photos, diaries or mementos that trace back to childhood years. Though these items don't serve as official documents like a certificate may, they offer a deeper sense of nostalgia and often contain additional information that a written record might not describe. In some cases, these objects can offer clues like grade or class photos that let us determine approximate ages at the time they were taken which can then be used to trace back even further by taking into account our rate of growth and outward physical appearance.

No matter which route you take when answering this important question, understanding when we were born arms us with knowledge that helps us connect even deeper with family histories, governmental organizations and our own self-identities - all in just a few easy steps!

Is my generation currently alive?

My generation is living in an unprecedented time of great change and adaptation. In many ways, this presents a huge challenge to those of us who want to hold onto the comfort that many of us are used to. No longer do recipes for success exist the way they used to; no matter how hard we try, it’s hard to stay ahead with the age-old tools we once relied upon. Society’s differentiated lines are often blurred - trauma experiences and eco-fear no longer separate us only by geo-physiographic territoires, but by experiential ones as well.

This geneneration is liviing under the presseure of haivng to balacne out time in unievrses that were not prsent before- a physical and media space. Never have people been conntected quite like this as they are now - heavily inundate with digital streaming medias, influencers and remote socail communities. Faced with such speed of change in our environment, it really lcamounts to an explsoive mix for those wh want or need to find solutions quickly.

At the end of the day however, what stands out about my generation is how resiliently we can adapt our strategies from one challenge platform to another, taking advantage of opportuinites that may appaer out of nowhere yet present a valid solution along teh way. And though it may be hard inn some cases adopt these changes too quickly without proper foresight on their potential consequences, what undoubetdly remains is that we’re all steppig forward into a future still strong and determinde today!

Where does my generation fit in history?

First of all, it’s important to understand the definition of generations—generations are defined as the act or process of producing offspring; and in this context, generations are groups of people born within a specific range of years with similar shared experiences. My generation is referred to as Gen-z or “the post-millennial” generation and is comprised of those born after 1996.

As members of a post-millennial generation, we are influenced by technology more so than other generations - shopping, communication and entertainment have all become heavily digitized to shape our daily lives. Growing up on social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram and Snapchat has changed the way we interact with one another, connect with influencers and consume media content. This highly technologically advanced world our generation has grown up in has caused us to become more aware of global issues. We have access to an immense amount of data from which to gain knowledge in order to mobilize information for positive change.

Overall, our recognition for digital advancements emphasizes that despite being a young demographic group, my generation already has the power to influence huge impactful changes globally. Whether it be through technological innovations or political stances taken in order for movements like #MeToo and climate change initiatives to reach greater heights, members of Gen-z can already be seen leading the charge – setting us apart from any other generation that has come before us and placing us where we firmly stand today in history.
