How to Deal with Principalities and Powers?

When we Christians pray, "Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven," (Matthew 6:10) we are in effect declaring war on Satan and his demons, because it is his will that is being done on earth, not God's. It is our job to change that, and we can do so by binding and casting out demons in Jesus' name, and by preaching and teaching the good news of the gospel, which is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16).

When we are spiritual warfare against the demonic realm, we are fighting against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12). We are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:10-20).

The battle is the Lord's, and we need to remember that as we engage in this spiritual war. We are not alone, because the God of all grace is with us (2 Timothy 4:18). He has given us everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3), and He has promised to never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).

The enemy is real, and he is powerful, but we need to be reminded that our God is even more powerful. The enemy may try to discouraged us and make us feel like we are powerless against him, but we need to remember that we are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us (Romans 8:37).

So, when we are feeling overwhelmed by the enemy's attacks, or when we are tempted to give up, let us remember that our God is with us and He is more than able to defeat the enemy. Let us stand firm in our faith, and keep on fighting the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12).
