Senate Properties, a significant portion of the government's assets, had a balance sheet totaling 5.9 billion at the end of 2008.

The government's equity capital in Senate Properties was 2.6 billion EUR, while long-term loans amounted to 1.2 billion EUR.

In addition to government financing, Senate Properties had 0.8 billion in retained earnings and 1.2 billion in external financing from financial institutions.
