Routes

The routes that were once a staple of the area are now a thing of the past, but they're still worth exploring. Public services ceased in September 2014.
The routes that operated during that time included the 10 Wellington - Wiveliscombe - Langley Marsh service. This route was a mainstay of the area, connecting several towns and villages.
The 25A Taunton - Norton Fitzwarren - Tithill service was another route that operated during this time. It's a shame that these services aren't available anymore, but they're still remembered fondly by locals.
The 39 Minehead - Porlock Weir route was a scenic one, taking passengers through some of the area's most beautiful countryside. And finally, the 300 Minehead - Lynmouth route offered stunning views of the coastline.
Here are the routes that operated during this time:
- 10 Wellington - Wiveliscombe - Langley Marsh
- 25A Taunton - Norton Fitzwarren - Tithill

Some of these vehicles are quite rare, like the 1945 Daimler bodied by Duple, which was built to wartime austerity specifications.
The fleet includes a mix of single and double-deck buses, such as the 1949 AEC Regal bodied by Strachan and the 1964 Leyland PD2 bodied by East Lancashire.

Free Rides on 25A
Steve Morris, the owner of Quantock Motor Services, is offering a free bus service on the 25a route from Cotford St Luke to Taunton until Christmas.
The service runs from 8am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, and is available to students and commuters.
The free service is a response to the previous operator pulling out, leaving some villages with no bus service.
Quantock Motor Services took over the 25a service on November 11, after being granted permission by a deputy traffic commissioner.
Normally, bus operators need to give 56 days' notice to begin operating a commercial service, but Quantock Motor Services applied for and received a Short Notice Registration due to exceptional circumstances.
The company hopes to break even or make a small profit by keeping customers and offering a viable service.
Steve Morris has said he can operate at lower margins since he doesn't have any shareholders, which helps keep costs down.
