To change the default website in Odoo, you'll need to navigate to the website settings.

The default website is set in the website settings, under the "Website Settings" tab.

First, make sure you're logged in as an administrator to access these settings.

To set a new default website, simply click the "Set as default" button next to the website you want to use.

Changing Default Website

Each website must have its own homepage, you can't reuse the same homepage for several websites.

Websites are created with default settings that aren't copied from one website to another, so you'll need to adapt the settings for each website separately.

To change the default website settings, go to Website ‣ Configuration ‣ Settings and select the desired website in the field Settings of Website at the top of the Settings page.

In a multi-company environment, you can link each website to a specific company in your database, so that only company-related data is displayed on the website.

To display company-specific data, set the desired company in the Company field.

Websites are independent entities, with their own settings and data, so make sure to adapt the settings for each website accordingly.

Mapping Domain

Mapping Domain is a crucial step in setting up your Odoo website. It defines your domain name as the main one for your website, helping search engines to index your website correctly.

To map your domain name, go to Website ‣ Configuration ‣ Settings and select the website you want to configure. In the Domain field, enter the address of your website (e.g., https://www.yourdomain.com) and Save.

This step also defines your domain name as the base URL for your database, including portal links sent by email to your customers. If you have multiple websites, it maps your domain name to the appropriate website.

It's essential to select the right Company under Website ‣ Configuration ‣ Settings, especially if you have multiple websites and companies on your database. This indicates Odoo which URL to use as the base URL according to the company in use.

When migrating from an existing website, make sure to set up the necessary redirects before adding your domain name. This ensures that old URLs are redirected to the new corresponding pages on your Odoo website.
