Reactions and Probes
The OCTA (Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography) technique allows for the visualization of blood flow in the retina, which can be used to detect and monitor various retinal diseases.
OCTA images are typically taken after the application of a contrast agent, which helps to highlight the blood vessels and improve image quality.
The contrast agent used in OCTA is usually a dye that is injected into the bloodstream, where it binds to the red blood cells and enhances the visibility of the blood vessels.

The OCTA technique can also be used to detect and monitor conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and retinal vein occlusion.
OCTA images can be analyzed to measure the thickness of the retinal layers and the density of the blood vessels, which can provide valuable information for diagnosing and monitoring retinal diseases.
By analyzing OCTA images, researchers have been able to identify new biomarkers for various retinal diseases, which could potentially lead to the development of new treatments.
