Welcome back to our site; this article covers artificial intelligence in writing and how AI impacts online content writers. If you're a regular reader of our pages and articles, you'll already know the confusion surrounding AI writing tools and their capabilities. For much of 2023, content writers were running away from the clutches of AI, fearing the new and impressive technology would steal their jobs.

Being a content writer was no longer a safe environment in the early exchanges of the year, but attitudes changed. The smartest content writers began to realize they must adapt or die, and AI wasn't here to steal jobs but, instead, to enhance writers' experience and help improve their work. Millions of writers now work alongside AI tools like ChatGPT to create well-researched, factual, and entertaining articles.

Can AI help sports writers and reviewers? It wasn't possible just a few months ago, but today, content creators writing sportsbook reviews, NFL previews, and promotions use ChatGPT, Grammarly, and other popular AI writing tools. If you produce sports and betting content, it's time to embrace the AI movement. We're here to explain the details with our handy article on how the best sports writers use AI.

Getting started

Let's set the scene before we get into the thick of our article and give examples of how sports writers use AI to help with their daily writing tasks. Several AI tools can help writers, and they're less famous than ChatGPT, which dominates the headlines. ChatGPT is the new kid on the block, and some may see it as an overnight sensation, but that's far from true. It's been a long time in the making, and those behind the scenes were eager to launch at the perfect time to gain maximum exposure.

Some AI tools often used by writers today have been around for years and, until recently, flew under the radar. AI writing tools are nothing new, but they are improving fast, making more experienced tools seem dated and out-of-touch. If you've used AI writing tools or editors in the past, you'll know what we're talking about here. The idea was always good, but the information needed to be updated, the technology was slow, and the editing clumsy, often creating more work for the author.

With technology more active in our daily lives and improving at an impressive speed, proper AI was always on the horizon. Now that it has landed and is capable of helping improve written content, writers must learn to use ChatGPT and similar tools or risk falling off the pace. Remember, AI isn't here to replace writers but to improve their content and make it easier to write articles.

ChatGPT in sports

ChatGPT can help research, create, and write interesting and informative sports articles. The skill when using ChatGPT for sports writing is to master the command. ChatGPT can suggest good titles for articles or topics for your next sports feature. But you must be clear when setting out the guidelines.

Here's an example of a poor command when using ChatGPT: "Write me an article on Man Utd's next home game with information in the recent form." ChatGPT is unlikely to produce an article worth reading as it needs to update faster and keep pace with recent results, injury news, and interviews.

Here's an example of a good command when using ChatGPT: "Write me a 1000-word article on the top-five goalscorers in Premier League history". You are now asking the technology to rhyme off the five highest scorers from EPL soccer and list them to create an informative article. Unless a current EPL player is on a scoring run and has pushed their way into the top-five Premier League scorers, the information available to ChatGPT will be modern enough to create the article.

Need for speed

One thing to remember when writing sports articles using ChatGPT is it needs to be faster at updating and know the recent form of the Man Utd attack or how Liverpool's defense has performed so far this month. It does hold historical details on soccer and sports, including the top five scorers, but you must add anything that has happened recently to support your article.

A great way to use ChatGPT for sportsbook articles is to ask for ideas for articles and brainstorm with you about how to approach a subject. ChatGPT isn't only a content creator but a program that helps you edit, gives suggestions and feedback, discusses issues, and more. ChatGPT can't write a quick review of a Premier League game as it still lacks the speed and accuracy needed. That's why it's a human writer's tool rather than a replacement.

When using ChatGPT for sports articles, keep this information in mind. Instead of asking the tech for an article on Liverpool's next Champions League game, why not ask it for ideas on a good article concerning Liverpool and UEFA's major soccer competition? With AI helping create ideas and headlines, you can spend more time writing and less researching.

Grammarly for content

When you have written an article, your next step would be to proofread and edit the piece before submitting it to your editor or sub-editor. They work through your submission, highlighting and fixing errors before uploading to the site's Control Management System and pressing publish. The article goes across the world wide web where millions receive it.

Grammarly is one of many editing tools, but it is the most famous and best-used. It can make your writing more professional by helping you edit before fixing any mistakes. You can then send the article to the next level, and you're editor will be delighted you've saved them some time. Submit more articles that are 'good to go' and ready to publish.

As Grammarly is AI, it requires human interaction as it doesn't automatically understand jargon, slang, or accents. Write a preview of an upcoming boxing bout, and you must deny each notification advising you to change boxing bout to about boxing. It can be frustrating, but AI editing tools do more good than harm.
