Global Turbine Asia Sdn Bhd (GTA) has signed an Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) License agreement with Europrop International GmbH (EPI).

The agreement is a culmination of GTA's efforts that began in 2015 to become the Malaysian reference for Safran's helicopter engine Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO).

This marks a major milestone in the industry as it allows GTA to perform Level 1 and Level 2 (on base) maintenance on TP400-D6 engines.

GTA had earlier attained European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part 145 certification for TP400-D6 engine in October 2018, making it the first non-European company to achieve the mandatory certification standard for military equipment.

The partnership with EPI strengthens GTA's foundation towards becoming a homegrown Malaysian solution to the maintenance of state-of-the-art turboprop engines.

GTA's aspiration is in direct support of the Malaysian Aerospace Blueprint 2030, which aims to establish the country as a key player in the aerospace industry.
