Tesla Pay Deal Falls Short of Robot Market Potential
The proposed $1 trillion performance-based compensation package for Elon Musk is a good deal for investors, according to Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas. He believes it aligns the interests of Musk and Tesla's minority shareholders.
Tesla's board has set ambitious targets for Musk's pay package, including a valuation of $8.5 trillion over the next decade, which would make Tesla the most valuable company in existence. This is a staggering goal, considering the company's current valuation is around $1.1 trillion.
The plan also demands a significant increase in Tesla's operating profit, from $17 billion in 2024 to $400 billion annually. This is a massive jump, and it will be interesting to see if Tesla can achieve it.
Musk's compensation is tied to various product milestones, including the delivery of 20 million vehicles, 10 million active Full Self-Driving subscriptions, 1 million Tesla Bots, and 1 million Robotaxis in operation. SpaceX's facility in Bastrop is expected to grow by 1 million square feet across three years, thanks in part to a $17.3 million state grant announced by Gov. Greg Abbott in March. This grant will support the expansion of SpaceX's semiconductor research and development and advanced packaging facility.
The project is expected to create more than 400 new jobs and generate over $280 million in capital investment.
