Beijing Daxing Airport

Beijing Daxing Airport, also known as PKX, has been a game-changer in China's aviation industry. It officially commenced operations in September 2019, after five years of construction.

The airport was built to alleviate the congestion at Beijing Capital Airport (PEK), which had become saturated just a few years after the opening of its Terminal 2. China United Airlines was the first airline to relocate its flights to PKX, becoming the first airline with regular flights at the airport.

Beijing Daxing Airport welcomed its first international flight on October 27th, 2019, with Air China CA757 flying from Beijing to Bangkok. British Airways was the first foreign airline to land and take off at PKX.

Passenger transportation at Beijing Daxing Airport (PKX) has shown significant growth, reaching nearly 40 million in 2023, a substantial increase from 10.27 million in 2022.
