Boris & Horton, a dog-friendly cafe in the East Village, is fighting to stay open after announcing it would shut down.
The cafe, which opened in 2018, has become a community hub for local dog owners, but struggles with slow sales.
Logan Mikhly and Coppy Holzman, the owners, are trying to raise $250,000 to update the interiors, hire more staff, and buy new air conditioners.
A crowdfunding campaign has raised close to $190,000 so far, with customers pumping donations into the space.
The owners hope to reach their goal and reopen the cafe, saying "If we hit these goals, we'll be back bigger and stronger than ever."
