Special Olympics NC Names New Co-Coordinator for Beaufort and Hyde Counties
Kathy Newman of Aurora, NC, has been named the local program co-coordinator for Special Olympics Beaufort and Hyde Counties.
She will assist Eric Sedlacek, who has been serving as the sole coordinator for Beaufort and Hyde Counties, in implementing Special Olympics activities within the area.
Newman has previously served as a committee member and local coordinator for Special Olympics Beaufort and Hyde Counties.
She is currently employed by Beaufort County Schools as an administrative assistant.
Special Olympics Beaufort and Hyde Counties will focus on providing sports training, competition opportunities, and health and wellness initiatives for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
The organization aims to increase athlete participation and raise funds in support of the local program.
Newman's volunteer position will be effective immediately, and she will work closely with Eric Sedlacek to lead a committee and implement the organization's initiatives.
