Adani Power Acquisition
Adani Power Ltd has struck a deal to buy Avantha Power & Infrastructure Ltd's 600 MW thermal power project Korba West Power Co Ltd (KWPCL) for an enterprise value of Rs 4,200 crore ($680 million).
This acquisition is a strategic move by Adani Power to consolidate its presence in the Indian power sector. Adani Power has a current operational capacity of 9,240 MW.
The deal values KWPCL at approximately Rs 7 crore per MW. The power project is located at Raigarh (Chhattisgarh).
Adani Power, a subsidiary of Adani Enterprise Ltd, aims to expand its footprint in India, particularly in the coal mining belt. It is committed to contributing towards India's growth.
This acquisition, along with the recent purchase of the 1,200 MW Udupi power plant, will increase Adani Power's installed capacity to 11,040 MW.
