Andrew Liveris is a seasoned global business leader with over 40 years of experience at The Dow Chemical Company. He held various roles, including manufacturing, engineering, sales, marketing, and business and general management, in numerous countries around the world.

Liveris began his career at Dow in 1976 in Melbourne, Australia, before moving to Asia, where he spent 14 years, including serving as Dow's general manager in Thailand. He eventually became the head of Dow's entire Asia-Pacific operations.

Liveris joined Dow's board of directors in February 2004 and took over as CEO in November 2004, implementing a new strategy for the company. He became the chairman of the board in April 2006, succeeding William S. Stavropoulos.

In his later years as CEO, Liveris oversaw the planned merger between Dow and DuPont, and he retired from his executive positions at DowDuPont in April 2018. He remained a director and continued to serve as chairman and CEO of The Dow Chemical Company.

Liveris has received numerous honors and awards for his services to international business, including being appointed Officer of the Order of Australia in 2014 and being awarded an Honorary Doctorate in science from the University of Queensland in 2005.
