SOFTBALL LEAGUE RULES AND REGULATIONS

MINORS

1.  The infield fly rule is in play.

2.  Stealing of all bases will be allowed all season.  Runners must stay on the base until

      the ball crosses home plate.  Runners may not advance past 1st on a walk.

3.  Drop 3rd strike is in effect per ASA rule.

4.  All teams must bat all players on the team in order (round robin).  There shall be no

     changing of the batting rotation during the game.

5.  The pitching rubber will be placed at 40 feet from home plate for Minors.    

6.  A pitcher can pitch a maximum of 4 innings in any one game and 7 innings in one

     calendar week.

7.  The game will be called at the end of the 4th inning or any completed inning

      thereafter if one team is ahead by 15 runs or more.

8.  Bunting is allowed in Minors.

9.  Games will be 7 innings.  Additional innings will be played to break a tie.  No innings

      shall start after 8:30 p.m.  by the umpires watch.   

10. For innings 1 - 5 of any game, the team leading can score a maximum of 5 runs per

       inning or until 3 outs are made, whichever comes first. The team that is behind can

       score runs until they are a maximum 5 runs ahead or 3 outs are made, whichever

       comes first.  There is no run limitation on either team after the 5th inning.

11. Teams with 10 players present must play 10 players on defense, four of which

       are15 feet beyond the bases.

12. The distance between the bases is 60 feet.  The 12 inch white stitched ball will be

       used.

 13. If a pitcher hits a batter or batters four times in an inning, or five times in a game,

       the pitcher must be removed from the mound.  The batter must attempt to get out

       of the way of the pitch.  If an umpire believes a pitcher has become a danger to the

       other players, she may be removed at any time.  It's the umpires call.

14. Pitcher will throw seven warm up balls before beginning to pitch.  Then five only

       between innings.

15. Any batter or runner who intentionally loses their helmet shall be declared out.  The

      ball will become dead and all runners must go back to the last legally held base.
